So, sat waiting on AA
Over last couple of days things started to shut down.
Stop Start ,who cares?
Oil light (could be the switch)
Cruise control
Reversing camera

Then yesterday wouldn't start at all!
Completely dead Camper electrics all disconnected as I'm changing layout! So not that end.

Main Battery only a few months old current charge 12.6 but had a few goes trying to sort or get it started!
Even disconnected the main battery overnight in a vain attempt that it might just reboot itself
But naff all!

2016 T30 T6 euro 5 engine.

Anyone had similar? AA should be here in next 30 mins

How did you get on, I’ve had few similar issues with connections in the eBox area due to corrosion, hope you got it sorted

Last of the "Moll" starter batteries finally dying?
Look for the battery make as the Moll battery dies (mine did at 2 yrs old) and the stop start not happening was a big clue... not enough juice to guarantee a restart so gets bypassed.

knackered battery me thinks?

Thanks for replies
Battery is fine checked etc by AA and only 4 months old!
Having spent an hour checking all that could be checked and running diagnostics he put a call out 4 replies
3 said Dash issues!
1 Dash but also there's a hidden fuse box under the battery!!!! So that needs checking ( all other fuses ok) so I'm going to pull the battery shortly to see ! Reason was this AA guy dealt with a similar issue and it was a blown fuse under the battery !!
Hopefully it wasn't a get out by AA ha ha he'd also said could I check the wiring diagram for the van "I wish" said I even going online none of the fuse box pictures were even similar! The AA diagrams were of no help!
So we'll see what's under the battery shortly!
If nowt wrong there then it's a call to VW !
Only other odd thing ( just remembered) it will turnover if left 10 mins won't fire up if tried again. Along with the fob not returning ( spring back) so there's a chance it's an ignition switch failure as well!

I'll come back when I've hunted down the illusive fuse box

Well the box does exist! ! Not to bad a job to get at! All fuses in order so ignition switch or my luck the expensive repair!

Upside I finally found the hole to feed any wiring thru bulkhead into van!

So phonecall to VW Totton Tuesday ! Nowt else I can check

The little fuse box in front of the battery is where I would check these fuses seem to get corroded and although the fuse is intact puts a high resistance in the circuit causing faults

Instinct made me wonder about the immobiliser!
So replaced the fob battery ( can't remember when I changed bit last) and tried again
Won't unlock door but hazards flashed! That's new.
Went thru the motions of aligning fob with immobiliser etc still wouldn't unlock via fob.
The owners info re this is about as much sense as a chocolate teapot
Feel free to give me your version of aligning the fob to vehicle just in case!

So tried the ignition it turned over but won't start but hazards flashed again. To me that's feels like a warning re immobiliser issues!

Wadda you reckon?

I'm going to call into VW commercial tomorrow after work as it'll need booking in regardless and getting it towed/ trailered. mobile electricans wont touch it just say VW!

Again ? all clean and bright all ok!
I’m talking about the terminals not the fuses just so I’m making myself clear, I can’t remember which one it is but had it on a couple of vans that just crank and won’t start and it’s a baggy terminal in that small fuse box, but if they are all good then you’ll have to get it looked at last resort, try and check as many earths as you can get too

Variation on a theme !
New fob battery, press fob " open" button immobiliser light in driver's door turns off but doesn't unlock. Same in reverse doesn't lock but red light comes on and hazards flash! So it's seems armed! I left NS slider unlocked when opened drivers door alarm went off!

Of to VW tomorrow have a chat checked out T5 forum as mines T5 made into T6 in effect 2016 model! Ignition switch / sensor known fault.

Thanks, earth's checked as well as able to when AA guy was there.

Check the connections and earths under the front seats under the flooring had poor connections cause problems with locking due to water ingress

Van off to VW Monday 12/04
All advice checked and tried thanks.
Only thing that might point towards the ignition switch was having fitted new fob battery ( clutching at straws ha ha) immobiliser light went out when unlock button went out but wouldn't unlock! Same in reverse!

I tried the ignition again fired and died but got a warning message saying key wasn't in ignition! It was ! And I'd done the fob matching rigmarole as per manual!

So we'll see what VW find ( hoping it's the ignition switch problem financially )

When you put battery in your key was your key a two piece so you pull the key off the fob

What the cover for the battery? By two piece key I mean did you separate the key from the body to change it’s battery

No it's the standard flip key just remove the bottom half of the plastic cover to access battery!
