EGR Delete & AdBlue Delete With DPF Still In-Place

Hi.

Just wanted to confirm what the indie has done on my 2019 204 CXEB Kombi - the EGR has been blanked off and coded out and also AdBlue has been coded out. DPF is still in-place. Now I thought that AdBlue was needed for DPF but just want to confirm that DPF can still work without AdBlue?

Is it remapped too? (as the EGR is out)
That I am not sure. I was told "blanked and coded out". This was done as it kept getting fault codes. What remapping should I be asking for as it's going back in next week for a different job and they could do the remapping if not already done?

No expert here but as the EGR is not bleeding exhaust gas into the intake anymore, the combustion changes inevitably (and the temperature goes up). Normally the fuel trims need to be adapted for these changes. When I had the EGR removed from my BMW 320 diesel a few years ago, the mapping definitely needed to be adjusted as the changes in the mixture (without exhaust gases) and thus the combustion process, where far outside the 'self regulating range' of the ECU & sensors.

Not sure if this is the case with our VW diesels too but a few specialists I talked to here (Netherlands) said 'yes, it needs remapping too'. I've read this a lot on the German T forum as well btw. It makes perfect sense to me. Maybe worth checking out or wait for other members to chime in. :)

How do I validate that the correct remapping is done?

Yes, that could be a bit tricky. Up in this thread you mentioned that you're not sure if it's remapped at all, correct? 'Coded out' is only telling the software that the EGR is not there anymore. This is to avoid error codes. But this doesn't mean the engine is remapped to compensate for the changes in the mixture from removing the EGR. Or more accurate, the fact that there are no exhaust gases fed into the engine anymore.
A VW dealer or specialist should be able to see if the engine is on factory or a changed mapping at least.

I have a question and this feed seems the best one. So thanks in advance.

I’ve had loads of issues with my dpf and oil levels. Be t6.1 70 plate. Today I’ve been told the second dpf ( further from the engine is blocked and they have taken it out. Can I run my van on one dpf and that cat ? Or do I need to get it replaced. To be honest it’s an absolute sham what’s going on with dpf and the hassle it causes. Any thoughts ?

now i'm confused as when i google "does a t6 have dual dpf" all i get is no it doesn't have a dual dpf?

AI bot searches just summarise info from various sources. It tries to relieve the human from sifting through search engine results. If you want accuracy you’re better off doing it ‘old school’ (which sounds ridiculous as it feels like yesterday I was in school and the internet as we know it wasn’t around - I had to visit a public library to get info for homework) and actually looking at the results yourself as you can quickly sort the wheat from the chaff.

AI also lies and lies again to cover its tracks. No joke. Plenty of cases of this happening. Basically I would say it’s current use is beta testing but people aren’t told this so assume it’s accurate.

That is some serious fact checking. Fair play. 💪
I stand by my opinion AI isn’t as good as it should be though and is open to serious abuse. The articles of it telling porkies to cover mistakes are concerning because not everyone checks things out for themselves.
Apologies if my original post was taken as a dig at you - it wasn’t meant to be.

So two DPFs and a cat. Plus EGR. Lordy.
