EC155 PCS - Vehicle battery light on Amber

Hi, So I have had my new ( my first ) camper van for 2 weeks and I have a new T6.1 2020 conversion with the EC155 power unit. The van has only completed 500 miles and is used every other day for short journeys at the moment.
I checked the power unit display for the vehicle battery and its on the Amber light below the green, I then went for a run and the battery went to the 1st green. I have just checked the battery and it is now back on the 1st amber below the green.....Is this ok?
Many Thanks

Are you using the leisure battery for anything? I leave mine switch off at the control unit all the time and there is no drain from the battery

The control panel is turned off and the leisure battery is full always on green and also fed by a solar panel.

Oh, sorry, vehicle battery, I thought you were talking about the leisure battery. I think the smart alternator causes the vehicle battery charge anomalies

I have the EC155, generally the vehicle battery is displaying 4/5 and solar 5/5 when idle, occasionally I also get 5/5 for the vehicle battery.
I also have at B2B system so I assume the solar is charging the vehicle battery as well.

Mine will be 4/5 for the vehicle after a run but then drops to 3/5, really odd and worried something is either draining the vehicle battery or it’s on it’s way out

The smart alternator and vehicle battery control module will not allow the vehicle battery to charge above 80%. This is to allow battery ‘space’ for the regenerative brake charging etc.
So although the leisure battery should charge to 100% the vehicle will rarely be above 80%.
a handy little device to buy is below - keep it plugged in the cig lighter and it tells you the vehicle battery charge
