EA288 Euro 6 engine reliability and MPG

I'm actually looking at a Crafter but from what I read they have the same EA288 NUTZ Euro 6 engine with minor differences.

T6.1 Engines 90, 110, 150, 199 (Bi Turbo)
Crafter/TGE Engines 102, 122, 140, 177 (Bi Turbo)

In the T6.1 world has there been many cases of issues with the 199 Bi Turbo issues over the 150 single turbo?
I'm wondering if the added complexity of the turbo and fuel system result in reliability issues.
(reading the forum there's the usual scattering of issues with them both).

WRT MPG, I presume VW went with Bi Turbo to keep the engine in the optimal efficiency region?
I'm not sure on the 150 vs 199 but the WLTP MPG figures for the Crafter/TGE 140 vs 177 is interesting as it looks like the Bi turbo is more efficient at motorway speed but less so in the urban and semi urban environments. No idea what's going on with the auto figures?
