DSG gear select

2018 DSG . When selecting P R N D it’s feels clunky . Side button feels ok & works ok just feels clunky when selecting . Any ideas? I read on another forum this could be due to a poor cable connection

Mine feels horrendous when parked on an incline

For sure hills make it worse / better but it doesn’t feel the best on level ground either

I know the cable enters on the top of the gearbox, Dorn the right hand side of the engine near the EGR & DSG cooler, not sure if theres an adjuster on it or not, I would like to think it can be adjusted at one end or the other.
I might be worth lifting the selected gaiter to see if theres an adjuster under there too

So is yours a 4Motion or done a big mileage. Did you have it from new. Si clunky when just selecting bur OK when pulling away. My 2019 199bhp Caravelle 4Motion is smooth on engagement but I think that once in drive like most 4Motions can be slow on initially pulling away initially unless right foot very firmly planted or loaded with left foot brake first. Clunky no!

204 non 4motion . Low miles. It drives / changes gear fine it’s just when selecting the drive mode it the lever feels clunky . I will try pressing the brake pedal harder tho
