Driver's seat base bracket

Can anyone tell me what this bracket is for on the back of my driver's seat base please? Doesn't seem to have any function that I can see. Many thanks. Want to remove it to create more space for electrics install

Was told it was for a secondary fuse holder depending on options fitted to van. Ours had it but will be removed when the battery goes under there.
