Door unlocks but wont lock on fob and show door open all the time

Well this morning just before going out I thought I'd give it a try and it's....fixed itself. If I manipulate the claw arm I can now hear the microswitch clicking on and off.

I hadn't added any more contact cleaner since Tuesday morning, so perhaps it just needed some time to fully dry out after several soakings in order for the switch to loosen/internals to dry etc. Unsure of exactly what happened but very happy as it now locks! Updating here for future googlers!

It is a big relief when you can now lock your van after spraying the contact cleaner in for a while

This is the exact problem im having now after spraying all my locks with wd40 thinking I was doing them some good Problem is mines a startline and doesn't tell me which door to open. Off to the shop tomorrow to get some contacts cleaner, hopefully it sorts it

Hi, hopefully you’ve got it sorted. With mine it took a long time before the contact cleaner worked, be prepared to wait.

I didnt know which door it was so each door had a full can each, had no luck yesterday, been out this morning and all fixed thank god! This thread helped thanks

Sorry to jump on this excellent thread.
Would the contact cleaner help with opening my side door? Takes a few presses on the fob sometimes to get the door to unlock. Locking not a problem.

Possibly, its only cheap to buy so definitely worth a go of cleaning the contacts on the lock
