Does this sound normal? DMF?

I've not had my T6.1 long, and I know cold starts and diesels don't often go well together - but does this sound normal? It sounds a bit lumpy and not consistent.

It's going in for a new aux belt next week, and soon a new drive belt just in case (no history of it). Plus a DSG oil service.

Could this be the DMF? Flywheel noise was commented on by a previous garage on a service invoice before I bought the van...

I'm posted abroad to Germany so a bit far! And the warranty has run out from the garage I bought it from 😔

You think it sounds that bad?

You’ve got 6 months under uk consumer rights to cover such things.

Get back in touch with the dealer. Appreciate it’s not easy in your current situation…

Even on a van? I was told there is no warranty, only was given 30 days

Even on a van.

Private hire/taxis are the only significant diversion from the regulations.

Might be difficult even if the garage would help, I can't reenter the UK until April for tax reasons

So I turned it on just now, it's not as bad as the last video. The noise is not coming from the engine and I think it's louder on the passenger side, but then it's next to a wall so it's probably just that...

Garage said they couldn't pay for recovery costs, but would pay for parts at trade costs. The video does make it sound really loud, it's not like that in real life 🙈

Sounds ok to me. Like you said. Might sound worse as was echoing off the wall.

Hard to tell. They're gruff units at the best of times, and unless your using pro recording gear the device is liable to favour frequencies in the mid to high range.

Get a local mechaniker, or indeed mechankeren, to have a look, see if their really is anything to worry about.
