I think this was done last night whilst out for a curry, gutted! Think it'll be a chip repair and would welcome any recommendations. Think one of the guys on here are a franchise chips away chap?

Owch, the way that has pushed in you may not be able to get it to pop out without marking. I think there is a dent master style person on here, let's hope they see this thread and offer some advice.

I do dent removal but unfortunately that is not something that can be removed with no damage to the paint!
Something that small and deep needs so much pressure that the paint will give first
And with it being a 17 plate T6 .........

Yep.
Badges off, then bare metal the dent, weld pull it out, filler quite far out as the metal is stretched and rippled. Top half tailgate respray, potentially smart repaired below the what would be window area of the tailgate.
