Sounds like a golf door seal

So, I fitted the sounds like a golf door seals from Transporter HQ about 6 months ago and the drivers side has come away at the front.
What adhesive are people using to keep these held on? I thoroughly cleaned the surface before installation with the 3M tape that's on the seal so am thinking of a bit of something to help reattach it.

Whilst I'm at it, the 'Transporter' trims on the wings, the passenger side has come away from the body slightly and again I can see this is attached with 3M tape so would like to refix this also. Is it best to fully remove it and retape with 3M or use an adhesive?

Any recommendations?

Mine are fine. I decreased with beake cleaner, waited for a warm day and left the weatherstips in the sun for a while for the adhesive to warm-up,

They do make a difference. Imagine it closing really quietly.... like a whisper.... yeah it's nothin like that. It just makes it sound slightly less loud and gives it a slightly premium sounding shut... hope that makes sense.

Got to say I wouldn’t bother with them again. The doors still sound tinny from the outside, noisy from inside and the chances of the door shutting are less than prior to the seals being fitted.

They have stuck like sheet to a blanket so I’m leaving them on. And I read all previous threads about where to stick them (ooh-err matron) and where to trim the ends for most success.

Wondering if they are just a gnats cock too big hence the force to close the door needing to be higher (slams like a transit is a better name for them) and the lack of noise reduction when driving. I imagine they are all made in China but supplier or machine discrepancy means not all are equal.
 
A lot of folk find the sounds like a golf seals make the drivers door in particular difficult to shut.

The kit seal is 16mm so I sourced my own 3M seal in 14mm, works perfectly.

The door is still tinny to close, but it does cut down on wind noise and the door shut stays nice and clean.

I’ll have to give mine a measure and see which I got, potentially swap to the 14mm if that works better.
The worst part will be removing the sticky mess. But not having to slam the door would be nice for everyone.
 
I fitted mine in 2022 and initially the door shutting needed a follow through pressure or a window open. It didn’t take too long to settle in and now it’s as it should be.
I had a couple of sections come unstuck but
“EVO stick” is my friend!

Out of interest have you sound deadened and insulated the doors?
 
If you compare driver door to passenger door, you will find that the lower section follows a different route, hence drivers side is tighter as it sits lower down. This correlates with the sill section tapering outwards and so making the fit tighter. Soundproofing definitely improves this in fairness, as does soundproofing behind the door slider panel to the right of the passenger slider.

No other than to keep most of the road dirt away from the door entry area which is a benefit.
Never wanted a Golf, never will and if I ever do it won’t be because of the door closing noise….must be some of the best sales bllx set loose on the van market to date.
