Here endeth the thread - new to me (6 months old) car picked up this afternoon.

And it was a smidge under £40k new so only £190 to tax for the year

Not a clue where the bed & kitchen are gonna go, but I can’t wait to watch you try!

What an absolute ball ache buying a car has become - whose idea was it to sell my van again?

Back to the drawing board after being messed around so much that I told them I didn’t want the car any more

Jeez! I’d have told them to swivel before buying a train ticket!

Trouble is there are very few for sale in the country with the age/spec and under the ‘luxury tax’ bracket so they had me cornered really
Ideally I wouldn’t have travelled more than a few miles to buy a car

My smaller VW arrived on Monday, despite saying no more black cars… it does look pretty. Van sold today, actually quite emotional seeing it drive off. Quite glad it’s not staying local as wouldn’t like seeing it around. Last family photo with the van this morning. We have had lots of adventures, moved house in it, lost a dog and rehomed our current dog. Never been this emotionally attached to a vehicle. Sure I’ll be back in the fold soon enough, probably something crafter sized next

I wanted a Boxster but couldn't fit in with the roof up and struggled to drive it with rhe door closed (im a bit of a unit, tall and wide.) Shame, because they looked like superb budget fun.

In the end the C70 turned out to be the only 'sporty' ragtop I could fit in, so I placed my order and two decades and a remap later still own it.

Still only 40k miles. I may actually sell it next year as we prepare for Mrs Sasquatch's retirement.

My step son now wants to sell the S40 and buy a C70.

That's the Ford based P3 about which I have minimal knowledge (mines the original P80 version.)

Alas, not well thought of by Volvo affionados.

The engine isn't a bad one, essentially the one Ford stole and slapped in the Fucus ST, but it's not an engine to run on the cheap. For example, they have a reputation for eating any belts fitted that aren't OE Volvo and a proper Volvo belt job is the thick end of a grand. Control arms go and anything other than OE is unlikely to last two years. They simply can't be run on a shoestring.

A full belt job, four tyres and an MOT recently cost me £1300 on my P80, as much as the P3 in the ad is worth.
