Dealership Prices.

I am currently looking to buy another t6 due to the fact my wife has now decided the van is the dogs to drive.
Something i have been telling her for years. Now i'm looking, i am really surprised to see the differences in prices on the forecourts of vw commercial dealerships for pretty much identical vans. I live in the south west and on average there is a 2-3k difference on the vans in the south than there is on the northern dealership
Basically vans in the southern dealerships are higher for pretty much same spec vans. Its a no brainer for me to travel and get either a cheaper van or a better spec van. Does anyone see a downside to this ie. does the warranty stay with that dealership or can i take it to any dealership for warranty issues?

I also live in Plym and bought my van from JCT600 in Hull, caught a train up overnight on a Friday and drove home Saturday and saved myself a couple grand
The warranty is with VW and not the dealership you can take your vehicle to ANY dealership anywhere regardless of where it was purchased even if it was a private sale

I had to travel 100 miles from the south to get a good deal on my new Kombi. If its a VW warranty you can take it to any dealer up to three years old but make sure it has been services up to date . You can normally get free delivery. I have had a few car like this and never seen them till they turn up so just give it a good look over and send it back if you are not happy with it .

I had a cracking deal from happynewvan.com excellent service and the dealers all over the country couldn't get within £2k of the quote.
You are classed as the 2nd owner though as they pre register the van before you.
You get the van delivered to your door with no miles on.
Warranty is as normal through any dealer.
Just a thought.

Hi I have just had a 150bhp petrol highline delivered. I bought it from gbcardeals who sourced it from a northern dealer. It was delivered direct to me in the midlands and i saved over £6k on the list price.

However they now don't seem to show vw vans on their website, only other van manufacturers, so i wonder if they no longer supply vw's. Maybe worth calling them to ask as their sevice was excellent.

I got 15% off list from a main dealer and it was basically identical price as a broker (autoebid) + more reliable info on options etc.

Live in the Northwest and drove to Exeter for mine :D, mind I did secure a good deal in the NE area but dilly dallied and snooze you loose, however all turned out good in the end

As someone who works all over the country and infact all over the world, I'm often bemused by some peoples reluctance to travel for, well anything. I understand the majority of folk do live and work locally, and thats certainly a good thing for the environment. But I do laugh when my neighbour is genuinely shocked by me travelling to say London and back for a days work ( I live in Leeds), but maybe I'm the one in the wrong.

Scruffy, i totally agree with you. most the people i know moan when i ask them to travel to Birmingham to do a days work...we live in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, and as for Northampton...NO CHANCE!!
They think they will fall of the edge of the world past Shrewsbury! I do 30k a year just pottering about. We bought our last Discovery from Carlisle, had a lovely day out then serviced it locally.....
Then again, its all about getting out of bed early, you cant travel and lay in bed!
