I’m having the same issue. I will sand it back and repaint it. It is aluminium oxidation

Any partic method of sanding or partic paint to be used in your opinion?
The good old wet n dry sanding will work - start about 150 grit and work up to 3000 grit. I’d use an etch primer before colour matching. The rattle cans from EuroParts are fine.

As @moomin-j says, replacement parts are readily available if you don’t fancy sanding and painting.

Edit: just followed the link @moomin-j provided - replacing would be cheaper!!!

Ordered new end cap but then found this thread,

Really don’t want to risk shearing screws!!! I wouldn’t be able to rectify that.

Wonder if painting in situ after sand back better option

Replacing looks really cost effective, is it straightforward does anyone know?
mines the same and concidered how hard the securing bolts may to remove and gave up I reckon they will shear before coming out then your really up sh**e's creek there's probabily oxidization around the bolt as well JOG's plan of sanding and spraying is a better bet
edit: beat me to it

Anyone know how I remove the ‘turner’ bit?

Presume that gets re-used with new end cap?

Just asking question again, searching for exploded diagram jobby.

How do I take the windy out ring bit out to swap into new end cap? Any ideas? Can’t see a way from outside so presume secured on inside somehow that will become clear on removal?

From looking at the replacement cap, it looks like the cap just slips over the “windy out ring bit”, so you just leave it in place.
