Crazing and spider web affect on poptop canvas!

Is it creasing that’s still there when the material isn’t stretched? If so maybe gently heating it could help.

I believe it is a vinyl canvas, they are now sending me samples of cotton canvas, but only available in colour grey :( , to possibly change. Maybe it is due to being vinyl as quite a stiff material, wondering if there is a way to soften the vinyl as this may provide a solution.
I prefer canvas to vinyl, as it’s more breathable - but it’s a personal choice.

park it in the sun with the roof up

My pop top has a vinyl canvass which is quite plastic like and not breathable. It was the only way I could get orange at the time.
4 1/2 years later
And it still looks pretty new. There’s no visible marking or crease lines and I’ve left mine down wet for a few days at a time on many occasions.IMG_6737.jpeg

I wouldn't be happy with that and I don't think it normal else more people would shout up .
Nor would I be happy with a choice of grey only as a replacement as that probably swayed you in your initial choice of supplier

I've just had an update from the manufacture and they eventually admitted this happens, also sent me a photo. Has anyone else had this issue with their poptop? Am over re-acting? Just cost over £4000!

Did they say why this happens? Also what they are going to do about it.

If you get stuck and no joy sorting I would suggest you email them and cc a number of other suppliers of pop tops / canvas just saying ‘hi bought this new and have this issue - would you say this is normal for new canvas poptops you supply’ or words to that effect so they have to admit it or fix it.

Did this with Dell and my sons 6 month laptop when the mouse spring broke and support guy said wear and tear - funny got a call next day and bent over backwards to sort it.

I've been intouch with them and they say it is normal, but understand my concern. They are going to send me samples of alternative new canvas they do (only in black or greys) so going to see how they look and maybe send it back to be removed and refitted with the new new canvas.

Make sure you get it in writing what they are going to do and the fact their doing it beacause of a fault in the canvas for free , the fact they say it's normal but understand your concern why would they change it for free.
If they do change it for free happy days.
You dont want to be in a situation they have your van and then say you owe us ££££ before we release it.
