Evening folks,
Has anyone travelled from France back to the UK via the tunnel recently? Did the British or French passport control ask for your covid test certificate?

Yup, got back last week. You need to be double vax’d and on return have a negative PCR or antigen test. You will also need a statement of international travel.

they did ask for the documents.

You wish to enter Metropolitan France

2.1. Mobility rules and regulations

If you are already vaccinated, no restrictions shall apply when entering metropolitan France.

If you are not vaccinated, you must give a compelling reason to be allowed to enter metropolitan France. The tentative list of compelling reasons features on the certificate of entry into metropolitan France that can be downloaded below.

2.2. Health control measures

If you are vaccinated, you must simply present proof of your vaccination status and a sworn statement certifying the absence of COVID-19 symptoms and of any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

If you are not vaccinated, you must present the transport company and border control authorities with a negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours prior to departure or a negative antigen test taken less than 48 hours prior to departure. If you are from the United Kingdom and are not vaccinated, you must present a negative PCR or antigenic test taken less than 24 hours prior to departure.
The departure of the first flight in case of connecting flights. Children aged below twelve years are exempt from testing.

You will also need to present :

  • A sworn statement certifying the absence of COVID-19 symptoms and of any contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19;
  • A sworn undertaking to take an antigen test or biological examination on arrival in metropolitan France;
  • A sworn undertaking to self-isolate for seven days, and another sworn undertaking to take a biological virological screening test (PCR) at the end of the isolation period.

Got all in place but as we are driving from Portugal we are cutting it fine with the 72hr limit for the pcr test. If we do it here and are delayed then it expires. Did you do yours in France?

I had an antigen test at 0930 in Prague and was at the tunnel at midnight, so no problems.

just saw this,

no help this time though.

@Dannyb6467 : A few weeks ago. After I booked the tunnel it asked me to upload all the relevant documents via their website, passport, passenger locator form (for which you need the 2 day test details to complete it) and a copy of your C-19 test, double vaccine cert. I think that was all. They tell you to carry paper copies. At the border the only thing I physically had to show was my passport.

I was in Paris the other week but on the Eurostar, used c19testing.co.uk, they can send you the antigen kit to your home and you take it with you.

To get your certificate you take the test and upload an picture of the test next to your passport, certificate issued in a couple of hours. Means you can do the test en route somewhere if you are worried about cut-off times.

Hope this helps

You can only fill out the UK PLF 48 hours, or less, before your return travel. You can book the day two test remotely but some of the cheaper providers want you to purchase in advance. the service we booked - booked from abroad - was £43 and the service was very good.
