Could I take a feed from here for DC to DC charger

I have this lot under passenger seat of new van week old and I am pondering if I can feed DC to DC charger from here for lithium aux battery. I haven’t had a chance to get meter out and poke around yet. I am still yet to figure out what it feeds also. (Updated to state correct tech being used)

That chunky red cable in the second photo looks like the factory fit aux battery cable that is fed from the e-box.

In my T6 I used mine to feed my Ring RSDC50 without issue. It was fused at SA8 with a 50a midi and only fed the dash cigarette lighter sockets.

However, yours may feed some bits already - do you have a second battery, tow-bar module, or any other extras?
Is your relay 645 for a VSR?

The only extras I have bud are business pack and front and rear parking sensors. I think that’s what the fuse maybe feeding. I can’t even find the bloody build sticker to see what’s been installed

As you have VIP Membership drop @Pauly a DM and he can usually get you the full build spec from your VIN when he gets a moment?

Also are you a T6.1 or T6 - there are significant differences in the electrics in places - yours looked T6.1 like mine from the location of that fuse strip?

T6.1 now picked it up last week restarting the modding, I have dropped pauly a message thanks.

If it's the same feed as in my MY21 T6.1 Caravelle it's the feed that provides most of the power to the trailer electrics module (4 x 30A) - I think it's a 10mm2 one but check the wiring diagrams before you trust my memory on that.

I think if you were looking to add a modest DC-DC (like the CTEK pictured) you'd be fine, something in the 20-30A region.

If you're looking to seriously invest in capacity and run a 50A region charger I'd get a dedicated feed put in.

if I ever do it my plan is to divert the nominal 30A charge feed from the trailer module through an Orion XS limited to about 20A

Much appreciated, was thinking of the little Victron 18amp one. Will try and decipher the wiring diagrams before I do anything drastic.

My power needs are quite modest so the 18amp jobbie would be plenty.

Ah, hmm, thank you. That's all a little beyond my pay grade but has filled in some knowledge holes.
