Composite Media App Connect workaround

So I have the composite media unit in my caravelle... tried app connect says contact dealer... all I want to do is connect my phone google maps and hear it through the car when it's on... I can only do this if I have media selected but then cant listen to the radio..

If you don't want to pay for Appconnect/Carplay etc you could always leave it on Media and stream the radio from your phone, providing you were ok with the data usage. That would allow the Google map (try Waze, same map data better graphics/facilities) voice instructions to come through.
