CMC?

I’ve been looking around at a conversion and CMC are coming out so far quite well for me (they’ve also got a van I really want and can’t afford).

They’ve suggested I buy a LWB shuttle and I’m planning on having a very basic pop top and bed, a sliding variotech 3000 and insulation done by them.

Has anyone had anything big done by them before? I’ve had a gas strut and an awning rail done by them previously but that’s it.

They’ve been around a long time, started in the 1980s I think. One of only a very few (4-5) companies officially recognised by VW as approved converters. Always used to be exclusively Reimo suppliers/builders until they introduced the Hembil range of interiors. Not sure if they still do but used to drive out to Germany at least once a month to Reimo to collect all the Reimo roofs, beds and furniture as well as any parts. I’ve bought from them in the past and looked at their vans. The parts I’ve bought (bike and surf bed system) was all good and the vans are well made

They are good quality. They don’t do a huge range of options as they are heavily Reimo dominated but if that’s what you want I’d have no problem recommending them.

I would definitely check exactly what the insulation covers as their standard conversions effectively don’t have any added insulation.

We met the CMC guys at Camperjam and Busfest, even though they didn't fit our Reimo bed system they gave us excellent advice regarding adjusting the brakes which stopped it rattling.

Adjusting the van brakes? I'll mention it to them if I get them to do a van for me.

I'm considering them for a Pop top and bed, varitoech 3000 full width slider and electrics..... plus an insulate
