Clearcut single swivel

Has anyone fitted the new 2025 single swivel from Clearcut. It looks fantastic. Lower base so swivel doesn’t increase height with a built in safe and M1 tested at a decent price.
Just wondering about ease of operation of the swivel and creaks etc.
Can’t find any reviews or installation videos.

Well I went ahead and bought the single swivel with safe compartment from Clearcut
Wow couldn’t be happier. It arrived super quick, so well built, easy to fit, all the holes line up perfectly. The swivel doesn’t add any height as the base is made lower than the standard Vw seat base. The swivel works really well - no wobble at all - M1 tested.

With people asking around £150 for a standard used Vw seat base, it’s a bargain at just over £200 with a swivel and safe compartment.

Nice one Clearcut. Lovely product

Bit late for you but yes have had ours fitted for about 2 weeks and its brilliant !
No wobbles or squeaks like some of them can !

Thank you this is the one I'm looking at to [purchase but couldn’t find any reviews.. it was either this from Clearcut or Kiravans Passenger Seat Base Safe and Swivel with Key Compatible with T6

Hi Edward,
I’ve just brought one of these for my T6.1 how easy did you find it to install?
I can’t find any fitting instructions anywhere let alone ones that came with the base.
I’m sure it can’t be to difficult but got the extra headache of heated seat wiring etc.
I’d be keen to know any tips or tricks 😉
Thanks

Yes very straight forward to fit.
We were going from a double seat to a single (non heated).
I’m pretty sure I had instructions with it. Might be worth contacting them.
We love ours.

I have fitted one on the new T6.1 build and for the money it's great. You don't really need instructions as it's easy and common sense.

With hindsight I might have spent a bit more on the RIB swivel top option ( easier access to swivel ) but still no complaints at all.

Clearcut are a great company.

Hello Orion,
Yep agreed, easy and common sense for a straight swap like for like seat no electrics. However with heated seat etc, there seems to be no provision to fix and accommodate the electrical sockets. I was hoping somebody might have some prior knowledge of how they handles this, ideally with some photos?

If anyone else was wondering like all swivels any connecting wires pass through the hole.

However you might have to tidy them under in the "safe" area if you are planning on keeping stuff in there.

Probably gluing or clipping to the inside of the frame frame might be best bet? However it's not so easy to reach in there as the only access is the safe door hatch.

As you say interesting to see if anyone has tidied this area if they have the extra electrics. Fortunately my seat has neither.

Note the base is open at floor level so allows the existing electrics / fuses some room if required. I didn't bother flattening all mine under the flap like I did with the bench swivel in previous van.

I will probably keep any valuables like cash, cards, keys etc in a plastic tub rather than loose. Might even just keep breakdown stuff in there like jack, jacket, light etc.

All the manufactures say compatible with heated seats and airbags like this Kiravans etc

Also some folk say always swivel the same way to avoid tangling the wires.

Hi there we have just fitted one to our vw t5 2007 front passenger seat, not put the seat on yet however it looks like the base will foul the b pillar when spinning, has anyone else had this issue? No idea what we are doing wrong! Any ideas appreciated thankyou!

I spin mine with the front of the passenger seat making an "arc" around the handbrake side not the door / B pillar side if that makes sense.

Also try moving the seat back or forward on the adjusters, see if that makes a difference.

It's great for the money.

Hello,
I just fitted mine too this morning and had the same thought once a had put the base on.
If you slide the seat all the way back it spins perfectly in place. With no fouling.

Ahh ok thanks for the replies, I haven’t even attached the seat to the base and the swivel part of the base is hitting the b pillar. We had a double front bench seat there before so not sure if that’s why…
