Cleaning solar panel

New van will come with solar panel. Forum search does not reveal much about cleaning, mostly installing and technical queries. The van will be parked in a north facing driveway prone to greenstuff.

My questions are:-
1 Do they need cleaning, if so how often?
2 Does cleaning damage the surface?
3 What should I clean it with?
4 Can they go in a standard commercial car wash?

1. Yes. Moderately often. I do mine whenever I clean the van.
2. If done with a modicum of care, then no.
3. I use car shampoo and a quick follow up with spray wax once dry.
4. Probably not a good idea.

Yes they need cleaning when dirty.
