Noticed my drivers Heko looked a bit out of place and a gentle pull and it was off! The double sided tape had failed. The force to remove was negligible and it could quite easily have blown off!

Clips removed with the aid of a putty knife and some fine long nose pliers. The stainless clips have a sort of barb that needs easing off the seal whilst pulling with the pliers.

I re-stuck the other side a couple of years ago using Gorilla clear double sided tape and will do the same with this one. The passenger side is still firm.

Just a heads up to give them a little wiggle!

I lost my drivers side Heko at 70mph just last month for exactly the same reason! Have now replaced both sides with the Climair which seem much more secure.
Exactly my scenario - just came off in an instant - middle lane of Motorway but thankfully seemed to avoid directly hitting anything behind

Changed to Climair - retaining clip is only smaller but deco and improvement on Heko ones, much more secure

Being plastic and exposed to the elements I expect they’ll need replacing in a year or two. I’ll look at alternates!!

Apparently the new Cliamair ones dont need the screw anymore?.

They re designed the bottom clip.

Same thing happened to me a month or so ago. Noticed some movement out of the corner of my eye and then it was away!

Got some veedub transporters on now and they seem ok 🤞🏼
