Cerbo help needed

I went to get something out the back of my camper and heard beeping and noticed all the lights on my control panel flashing and so was the Cerbo screen.
It started fine thanks to the Ablemail
I checked VRM and leisure battery 100%
Then I checked the Roamer app and the battery was flat.
Any ideas as to why the Cerbo was lying to me?

Do you have a smart shunt giving info to the cerbo on state of charge?

How is the Cerbo getting data from the battery?.... Self install?

Post some pics.

And the cerbo details for the devices and battery settings.

...

The Cerbo has various settings that is used to show the SOC settings..... It might be that.

Yes it was a self install. I relied solely on you guys helping me.

I'm probably wrong, but I don't trust the shunt, glad I haven't got one! I check my Roamer App and Cerbo screen. Slightly differing, but not much. I drive it enough to take the battery to max, reset the system. Had you not driven Scooby much Gord?

We've seen this odd shunt behaviour before with that Skyliner chap and a member with a very nice van set up (forgotten his name) who uses the shunt but had the battery bottom out but the shunt saying otherwise. When my LB shows less than 13v the Ablemail AMT stops working and the SB will plummet, usually overnight. If the sun doesn't come up, like today, I'll stick the EHU in to bump up the LB. I'm sure it's an issue with the shunt!

The shunt is far more accurate than the ROAMER BMS. Even the guys at ROAMER told me that.

The shunt is more accurate as it can measure smaller currents than the battery BMS can.

I do know I have lost a whole 1% of my Roamers capacity after 12 months use though, my max charge capacity now is 227.7Ah, or 99%. That upsets me, but apparently quite normal, my old gen 1 had lost around 4% after 4 years.
But I've had no disparity issues like the folk I know using the shunt, but is that because I max out the battery quite frequently? Either by solar or driving..

Without a shunt you wouldn’t be able to see a disparity.

I got the special cable that goes directly from the Roamer battery to the Cerbo
I’ve also got the smart shunt
This could be the issue....

You have two sources for battery data feeding the GX..... The Roamer battery direct, and the Vic shunt....

There is a setting in the GX where you have to choose the correct device.... There will be the roamer/shunt/auto

You should select the Roamer battery for the most accurate reading.

The victron XS is the Cerbo display, and I compare that to the Roamer App. Quite similar, but a slight difference, slight..
No, the Victron XS is just a dc-dc charger. It does not measure stat of charge.
The cerbo can get the Roamer state of charge from the battery BMS. The problem is the Battery BMS does not pick up small discharge currents. Therefore it’s inaccurate and reads too high. In theory it could read 100% charged and be completely discharged. (Unlikely scenario).
The Victron smart shunt can detect smaller currents than the BMS doesn’t. Therefore give a more accurate state of charge.

I've just had to check, my Roamer app and data from cerbo are as here. They are not singing from the same hymn sheet!

this is my settings. . .

CERBO GX shows 96% SOC.

the GX settings for the battery SOC is from . . . The Roamer battery bank, CAN-BUS link to the Cerbo GX CAN port.

1763193239151.webp

which is made up of two Roamer SB230`s. . . (the two batterys have a CAN/RS485 interlink cable)

1763193304829.webp

..............

and this is the ROAMER APP for both batterys. . . .

both shown on the list...

1763193559162.webp

Batt#1

1763193578193.webp

and Bat#2

1763193600353.webp

so everything in sync - all showing the 96% SOC..

and this shows the combined battery Ah as 460Ah.

1763193697174.webp

so the 96% is the SOC for the full 460Ah battery bank.

...

that shows it all works perfectly.

(Gen4 Roamer batterys and CerboGX)

...

show us the SOC on the roamer APP and the CerboGX screen.

FWIW - you can recalibrate the SOH by fully discharging the battery till it shuts down - then doing a full 100% charge.

that lost capacity is not the battery after 17 cycles - it just needs a full drain down and full recharge so the BMS can see a full 230ah charge go into the battery.

id imaging as its so new - you havent done a full drain down - full recharge yet?
