Central Locking Double Clicking

Sorry can't find this (common?) fault amongst previous threads.
Every now and again my central locking will lock all doors as expected when the vehicle goes over 3 mph(?) but clicks around for a few seconds.

Its as if it can't lock one door so keeps trying them all. I want to say its a faulty solenoid or similar.

Not a big deal at the moment but wouldn't mind knowing where to start.

Do you have an obd code reader - Carista, OBDeleven, Vcds etc?

I gave up on auto-locking on mine as it would go through that cycle of lock/unlock every few seconds. When checking my fault codes I often get faults registered for the rear doors (barn doors) and sometimes the sliding door. Maybe a faulty sensor(s) or lock(s), which gives an 'implausible' or other signal. Haven't deemed it worth trying to fathom or fix.

Randomly it hasn't done it for a couple of days.
Like you, its just another quirk.....unless it starts to lock me out

I have an OBDII scanner but only a cheap thing from a few years ago that very generic.

Did you get to the bottom of this?

Should all models auto lock over 3mph? Mine doesn’t. And when I try to lock on the button by the drivers window it automatically unlocks straightaway.

It would be good to know if anyone has had the same issue.

No vehicles do it by default but there is option that can be enabled with an interface to turn auto lock/auto unlock on and off

Bouncing locks are normally a sign of a faulty microswitch in one of the door locks, the lock will send a confirmation signal back to the BCM when it locks so i suspect it will be centred around that

Okay that makes sense. I assume it will be one of the front doors as I have the extra door seals on those.. Has anyone made a video of cleaning the micro switch? I’ve just had a look on YouTube and it looks like a right mission! 🚀 😅

I didn't. Something I need to look at.
Randomly I wonder if its also linked to not being able to open the sliding door until I press 3+ times?

I think this thread was a sign.
On Sunday my drivers door wouldn't shut - as in the door latch wouldn't grab the silver catch thing.

30 mins of fiddling, squirting wd40, etc I gave up. Luckily there is a VW/German garage round the corner so I drove round.
The locking mechanism is knackered. Currently getting replaced.

This van is costing me a fortune - although to be fair, the first time in a long while something has actually broken.
