If you are carpeting the metal work in one run, over estimate the length as you lose a lot manoeuvring it around the rear pillars and can come up short.
With that said, if you do make a mistake anywhere, carpet is easily "patched" and if done neatly is invisible
Oh and fresh sharp Stanley blades are your saviour. I rate these they hold an edge longer when cutting carpet (I used THQ recycled plastic so not sure if this was easier or harder to cut than regular 4-way stretch

I wish I’d have done mine myself, but a combination of not being arsed and the Mrs wanting it done “professionally” meant it went in a shop…
