Caravelle Pop Top install

Thought would add some pictures of my pop top install. Roof on, just getting the interior ready.

Will be keeping airbags & rear heater system.

Just cutting the lining, then to move the main heater controls to the back of the lining.

Velle install continues. Moving the aircon/heater controller to the rear became problematic, as it was too hot for the glue, this summer! There is space behind the forth roof support and back of van & depth for the controller to fit. Just need to lengthen the cables for the controller @ lights.

I only cut out the two middle roof supports & half of the front one, over all if the roof supports, that most installs I've seen do.

Then braced either side and box tubing on the half cut front.

It may not be to all taste the covering, but you cut the roof lining so much about, i found i needed something thicker than just a single piece of material & i have GTi Seats & steering wheel fitted, so nearly a GTi inside!!

Is that your Clan Tartan? I was wondering what you might be doing with the Caravelle linings!

Im not sold on this as yet, but the interfaces between the new lining and cut out roof section, knowing there is about a 2 inch gap, has been made easier with the slightly bulkier 3mm scrim backed tartan.
