Caravelle cup holder illumination, anyone done this?

So now it's dark again I find myself struggling to set down my drinks and or retrieve anything from the back part of the cup holder storage. Before I fix some LED tape in there has anyone already done this and documented it?

I find that usefull for seeing my cup holder (non caravelle though)

It's a Caravelle so yes has overhead lights which I've upgraded to LED but turning these on is distracting when driving. They dont have the red glow leds though. I just need a little illumination to reach out and place the cup rather than light the whole cab.

The ambient lighting I did something similar in my Shuttle but again I just want to illuminate the cupholder not the whole dash. Should be easy, probably 50mm of LED tape off one of the dash switch illumination feeds. I'm sure someone must have done it before?

Could you insert some ambient light LEDs into a couple of the switch blanks?
