To keep people informed, as information from VW is abysmal.
I think Car-Net has been retired by VW in Germany, but they haven't confirmed that yet. And they haven't told the UK subsidiary.
It seems to have been replaced by "Guide & Inform Basic" which provides Vehicle health report, News, Parking spaces, Petrol stations, Weather and Online traffic information.
It says it provides Online POI search (text), Online Destination Import, but I've not tested that yet.
My contact end on 9th July 2025, and VW do not show any way of extending that.
My Car-Net stopped working on 2nd March 2025.
I have been emailing VW support ever since and getting answers of taking it to a dealer for diagnostics at my cost. I've emphasised that I've not changed anything, and it was their fault, so they should pay, but NO they won't pay.
Now I've got an email to register again using the app and now I find I have the "Guide & Inform Basic".
I cannot upload multidrop destinations as have done previously, so multidrop trips using other satnav systems is very difficult. (Microsoft Autoroute 2013 now is my best tool).
I'll keep folk informed as we go along.
