Can You Tell Me What This Rear Heater in my Kombi is?

Somebody transporting dogs?

The dealer originally told me it was a parking heater just like a California. I’ve been having dreams of camping in the snowy mountains with my “parking heater” on. just read the thread post above and it looks like that’s not happing any time soon.
Tha van I’ve bought is a startline 150dsg with twin side doors and a glazed tailgate Pretty crazy spec. Found out after I had paid the deposit it had this heater in the back. Who orders a rear hvac unit in a startline panel van lol

a carpet cleaner to stop all the chems and machines freezing up bursting the brass fittings

who would Order a panel van thinking of sleeping in the back with a fitted bed and Kitchen with cooker and fridge lol

Hi, removed these a while back but didn’t take any pictures, however, I have taken some in the order of removal. The small one at the rear pulls off from the bottom. The bigger one is held with clips and also pulls off with some effort. The long one the goes from rear towards the front is held with a screw at the front then pulls out of retaining slots by pulling towards the front of the van. The last vertical duct also slips in and is the easiest to remove.

Hi All,
I have the same heater in my T6 Highline with twin sliders, looking to convert to a Kombi. Has anyone done this? I was also looking to install a Kombi bulk head and put my tools in the rear, has anyone done this?
Kind regards
Michael

Yeah you need to leave the big plastic cover in to hide all the heater gubbins. It’s quite a big unit that sits down the back by the wheel arch. Looks a bit of a mess without it. If it’s a full ac unit you have then it will have pipes going up the pillars and along the roof etc much more difficult to do conversions with that lot in. Mine didn’t have this it was just the blower unit.

Hi,

Question how did you terminate the two hoses, I took mine off yesterday and coolant started to run out of the system. should I be concerned about removing this? If I did please let me know what to do with the hoses. Thanks in advance.

When I researched removal previously, it was recommended to join the pipes together near the engine then you can ditch the pipework to the rear.

There is a post about it on the forum with pictures IIRC.

After checking the rear heating unit I found the attached at the rear. Can someone confirm they have this in their T6…? Seems like a repair job?

i removed mine along with all the rear aircon pipes, I don't need it and want to put units in.
Hi Doulsy, I would like to remove mine too. Please could I ask if there were any difficulties while removing it, or any special tools needed? Also - did you have to reset the computer to tell it that it's no longer installed, to avoid any error messages on the dashboard? tia, Tink xx
