it never had a nut on it in the first place, the pic I posted is as it was when fitted, I only edit the pic to show the bolt in question and the rotation of tilt.

Probably user error on my part for lowering the front of the awning? I presumed it would be able to be lowered, but it failed as soon as I lowered it.

There’s no reason it couldn’t have a nut on it. It’s crying out for a Nyloc.

My thoughts exactly. But it looks like a pain to fit if the metal already has a thread on it, you’d have to tighten the nyloc independently.

I assumed that the problem has arisen due to the threads in the metal plate stripping & not holding. In which case a nut & washer is the only way to go. If the threads have stripped, it won’t be a problem tightening the nut. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

No, you are spot on.

There is a lot of flex in the design of the brackets. Quite surprised how much they flex when the awning is out.

How does it flex so much do the legs not stop that

Generally speaking the awning housing means forward when the awning is out.

I’ve got some nuts from a friendly bike store. Just need some washers and some tools now.

Very poor design. The problem was these thread inserts that were in the lower bracket, they have pulled out. All 4 of them.

Don’t know why it’s designed like that, the whole they were in is an 8mm hole. The hole on the L bracket is only 6mm. (Why not simply make them both 8mm ?).

Anyway, found a hardware shop and bought some tools and some M6 nuts bolts and penny washers. Used the wife’s lip balm to stick the lower washer under the bracket and then put the bolt through, with nice large washers above as well. So all sorted and rock solid.

These are the silly thread inserts.

But and washer below. Zero movement in the brackets now.

Do you know if it’s a 5mm or 6mm Allen key fitment?

M6 is typically 4mm Allen key. I'll see if I can confirm on mine

For some reason the thread had not updated when I replied. I put replaced the inserts with revnuts as mine pulled out while putting together. Seems a major weakness, I reported to seller.

those tiny little inserts what a sh*te design nut and bolt is a much better idea even if you tapped it out it's probably stronger than the inserts

I have the following fitted to my T6 LWB and no modification was needed in terms of fitment. Did the work myself so confident of that. The let down was the instructions were not clear for the larger awning for the lwb.

I can see two mounts depending on the rail one for Reimo and one for Vamoose neither look like the upright they have sent a picture of. Difference is the location that the mount that is screwed to van goes depth wise.
