Hi guys, I've got a sportline with a dometic awning fitted, I've bought some roof rails, the awning is using the holes I need to fit the roof rails? Before I make a mess of it all, how have people gotten round this problem?
I have seen the awning "C type" rail and roof rail using the same fixings. Not done this myself, but it seems quite do-able (I have multi rail fixed to the roof).
You need an offset c-type awning rail to use with roof rails - so the C-rail sits on the edge of the gutter like this...
Then the feet of the roof rails can use the same bolt holes - just make sure to add some sealant to the bolt holes to avoid leaks (and be aware the stock roof bolts are made of brittle cheese and will more than likely snap if you look at them funny).
