This very small business Camper Essentials ...I found by mistake on the good old web..not a big player in world of Leisure...but offer a very honest and friendly service and will give a good price ( as long as you don’t want the shirt of his back )
Used then for my awning rail (which he fitted free of charge) but more recently purchased the new Vango Rhône and all the bits to go with it..
So just passing on this little find so we can all share..........

ps They sell loads of nice goodies for vans and camping

I second the recommendation. I bought their new awning rail delivered quickly and safely and a perfect fit. I bought other bits at the same time including a Vango awning (not had chance to try it yet) and I was impressed with their service.

Popped in to see him today and also picked up a rail , nice guy to deal with and the rail is perfect

I recently bought this awning rail and fitted it myself. Very easy to fit. I like the fact that you don’t need to drill holes in the bodywork.
I use it for my Isabella sun canopy and it takes all of 5 minutes to put up. It now means I can open the sliding door without rain pouring in!

Hi Bunty
Hope you can help...did you say you don’t have to drill holes to be able to fit your awning rail?
If so how does it fit? Sorry I’m new to camping..
I’ve called Camper Essentials but couldn’t get through..
Appreciate your help
Cheers
Craig.

Hello Craig,

You simply remove the factory fitted plastic bolts, line up the pre drilled holes in the rail and screw in the stainless steel bolts (as supplied). All you need is an allen key.

I’m not normally one to complain or have a moan about anything, but I ordered the T6 Bolt On Awning Rail from Camper Essentials on the 25th April and I still haven’t received it yet!? On their website it does state....

“This awning rail is made to order and as this is also a bespoke service, can take a few days or maybe a little longer at peak times for me to make.”

Just disappointed that they’ve had four working weeks now (a little longer than a few days) and in the lack of communication.

I’ll add to this when I finally get the rail and it’s fitted!?

Edit Sunday 30th May.

Ok, so the awning rail was delivered on Wednesday 26th May and I’ve just fitted it today. I have to say the rail came very well packaged, all wrapped up inside a hard plastic pipe that would not have bent very easily at all.
The actual rail is very well made too, pre formed to the shape of the van, pre drilled to use the existing roof holes/bolts and all the edges have been smoothed off nicely.

I understand from a ‘blanket’ email from Camper Essentials that they are very busy at the minute and so lead times for any orders are likely to be extended from the norm!

I’d definitely recommend Camper Essentials for this awning rail, but get your order in and give it a good six weeks for delivery.

Had a similar experience of having to wait nearly six weeks for the order to be fulfilled. Good awning rail, well finished and perfect fit. I ordered the adapters for the feet of my van style bars as well, expensive for a bit of plastic but allows the rail to remain out of view from the side.
Supplied in a robust plastic tube and unlikely to get damaged in transit.
He seems to be a bit of a one man band so if in a hurry look for somewhere else to supply.

Thanks for the recommendations folks. Really appreciated. Yes I am a very small business and at times things get a but crazy, but I always try to offer a good service. I have some part time staff now and am therefore more on top of awning rail production. These are all hand filed and polished and often shaped to people's vans which is quite a unique service but standard sizes we can get sent out a lot quicker... especially when ordering not in the height of the season. Get your vans ready now folks, you can get it delivered pretty much next day, but even during the height of the coming season, I don't intend anyone to have to wait for more than a few days.
We also do a huge range of other accessories and awnings from Vango, Outwell, Outdoor Revolution, Easy Camp, Kampa and Khyam and I'll always try to beat prices of elsewhere so please get in touch. Text or WhatsApp is always a great way of touching base. 07900600886
Have a great time camping and thanks for supporting a small business.
P.S. If anyone would be kind enough to leave these lovely words you've written about me as a Google Review that would be massively appreciated.

Got my awning rail delivered from Camper Essentials last week. Quality product, great service from Sacha and happy to support such a small business.

Decided to colour code my rail to make it even more stealthy.
