I need help lol, I have bought a t5 converted to a camper, I just took it to have a leisure battery fitted and was told that the lights and sockets have been fitted for mains only! Do this make any sense to anyone?
That does make sense if your interior lights and sockets are wired only to work when on mains hook up. Seems odd to do it that way, but it’s possible.
Difficult to comment more without seeing the van.
Does it have a leisure battery? I would guess if it's all wired in for 240v mains, then why would it have a leisure battery?? Some pictures are always useful to get direct and correct advice. Leisure batteries are usually (not always) under the front seat bases (can be either side?).
I had a leisure battery fitted today to run the tv and fridge, I wanted this wired up to the existing electrics but was told they couldn’t do it because of the way it was wired. If I put some pics up would you be able to tell
Some pics and detail where the wires go and what they are connected to would massively assist the good folks on this forum, who are all here to help fellow T6 owners to get the best out of their vans in what ever form (campers / builders vans / trick vans slammed to the floor etc etc).
There are some really talented auto electricians on here who may be able to help you.
You may need to help yourself also by using the search button on the forum as most problems have been seen before!
So the answer may be sitting here, the more detail you give the better the answer.
