Ok advice please, we have just sold my wife’s T6.1 conversion and she would now like a California but should we buy a T6.1 or T7 ? She is insisting on petrol (not hybrid)
Any pro’s or cons advice welcome

The new Cali is indeed based on the actual T7 and not the new Transitspoiler.

Start by witing a list of essential criteria, then desirable criteria, and see which option comes closest.

If your accounts department is insisting on petrol I think the T7 is available as a straight 2 litre TSi.

You won’t get a petrol 6.1 California. The TSI Cali stopped late 2018 very early 2019.

I didn’t know that, my wife has spotted a T7 California she fancies so may have to go down that route to avoid diesel

The T7 can be had with the 204 TSi engine. I wonder if its her sneaky way to get you into the newer model?! I wish Mrs Sasquatch was so keen to let me spend on new toys.

My wife has now found a T7 California to buy, does anyone know if the t7 petrol has a dipstick for checking the oil?

The seller of the vehicle could probably advise on that?

Edit - Internet pictures of ex T7 Multivan 2 litre petrol lumps for sale would indicate that they do have a dipstick, but I'd still pop the bonnet and look in case that varies between years.

Unfortunately the sales guy didn’t know, I will try again when we collect it.

You'd think with the money you intend spending that a walk outside to pop the bonnet and have a look and then call you back wouldn't be too much trouble.

Fair point, when we collect I will ask the sales guy to get someone from service to confirm either way and if it has one show me where it is
