Any electric guru’s can answer this..?
T6.
just changed my Halogen rears to LED’s. Linked up & sorted great. Tried the lights, all working as they should. Thought I was happy.
So ignition on, put into reverse lights on great, lights on. Turn on the engine, select reverse & I get a buzzing from the relay pictured!! Why is this only happening when the engine is running & not with just the ignition switched on?
Cheers guys.

That doesn't look like an OEM relay - do you have an aftermarket reversing camera fitted?

If so it might be to switch the reversing camera on from the light feeds.

Generally LED lights will not draw current in the same way as Halogen so that might cause pulsing of the relay.

Possibly it's also using an ignition switched feed, hence why it only occurs with the ignition on?

More details needed of what that relay is and how it's connected really...

I’ve been in touch with the converters about it.. & yeh there is a camera in there.. over the mirror types.. either on permanent or when in reverse.. seems to be the issue with the relay & change to LED rear/reverse lights..
only buzzing when engine on & in reverse.
the guy said he’ll be in touch with the fitter tonight or tomorrow & see what’s happening..
I’m off to Busfest early doors til Sunday avvo.. probably get it in next week sometime I hope.. pretty irritating when I’m reversing on my drive..
cheers bud.

If it's the PWM signal causing the chatter then some folks have had success using an opto coupler relay module as they seem to smooth out some of the PWM signal.

I had this same issue my solution (2017 T6)

I used a new 12v feed from the fusebox under the dash and used the reverse feed to trigger the relay to send this feed to power the camera.
I found because of the BCM in the car doing things to the signal (beyond my understanding) my relay played up, in the end i used a relay with a diode as recommended by another forum member which solved the problem. Might be worth getting that relay just incase. This one from memory :Halfords HEF560 Relay 12V 40A 4 PIN inc. diode | Halfords UK
