Burst intercooler - ok for very short trips?

Just found out I have a burst intercooler, usual symptoms. Garage trying to locate one, meantime am I ok for a 10 minute drive morning and night to the train station, or park it and forget it until it can be repaired?

When you say ‘burst’ how big is the leak?
The bigger the leak and the more accelerator you use the more it would smoke if you didn’t have a DPF. Driving it is possible but it’s going to be dumping a considerable amount of soot into the DPF.
Personally I’d find another means of transport.

The DPF will trap any soot, but it means it’ll clog quickly. I assume you mean a boost leak rather than a coolant leak?

Either way, you risk causing further issues, and I’d park it up!
