Bought van got front grill thrown in

1st post so hopefully its in the right section.

Like the title says I got a grill thrown in with purchase, it’s in a little better nick than the one currently on so would like to swap over but it’s slightly different.
1) the chrome strip on top curves around the badge
2)looking at it I can’t take that badge off and replace with the one currently on.
I know I have to take bumper off to swap, I just want to know if it will be a direct swap or do the differences in chrome strip/badge mean these won’t swap over.

Also I’ve been looking for black trims for the new grill but can’t find black ones that curve around the badge, anyone know where to get them or should I just take off and respray.

Also how do I find out if I have a t6 or a t6.1? It’s a 2018 high line if that means anything.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
What you have there is a T6. (2015-2019).
T6.1 was a facelift (2019-2025)
That grill will fit your van, the one you have is the Highline grille, same as mine, the other is like the one I had on from Transporter HQ maybe? They do a badged one like yours and a badgeless , both with the 3 chrome trims. If I remember correctly it was about £120. So maybe look there for black trims?

Going by what appear to be gloss black sections above the chrome, it could well be.

I thought caravelle, but just didn’t look right.
From memory I thought the caravelle only had 2 chrome trim strips and a black top strip. And it does look exactly like the one I have from THQ.

Nope. I’m wrong. Caravelle does/can have 3 chrome strips. I had to message a friend who has a t6 caravelle to find out. Sorry.

I typed the code into google and came back as a grill for a “VW T6 MULTIVAN TRANSPOTER” lol

In mainland Europe our Caravelle is called Multivan and our Shuttle is called Caravelle... I think.

Well I hope it fits spent this afternoon wrapping the trims in black vinyl
