De-Badging Advice Please...

I have changed both front and rear VW badges from OEM Chrome to matt black.

I was going to take the 'TRANSPORTER' lettering off the back door as well, but...

It is applied to the black strip above the number plate, if I remove the letters, will I be left with a shadow, due to the effect of UV on the black material? I don't think it will polish out due to the texture.

If I can't cleanly remove the lettering, I will have to replace with matt black lettering, I would rather just remove it.

The van is a late 2022 reg.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Take the lettering off, then is there is any trace of them left behind, you can revive the trim with a hot air gun.

Was thinking exactly the same. Would rather remove it than replace with black lettering.

Trim restorer might help if you don't have access to a heat gun.

Thanks - I do possess a reasonable heat gun. I have never tried this, I guess just an even heat over the entire piece bringing the colour back to the surface?

I also have a can of spray 'Back to Black' somewhere in the garage.

I was going to replace the lettering with 'TRAINSPOTTER' and see if anyone noticed...

If you have a vehicle with higher retained value that most other vans why try to remove that perceived value?
