At least a lost ECU is potentially less hassle than a blown engine.

And I'd be interested to know how you got the shear bolts out.

I bent the cage up with grips, so I could release the harnesses, The ECU and cage then slides out, I started the shear pins with a center punch until they cracked, then used pliers

I’ve been quoted £900 to get mine done, still cheaper than getting the new EGR valves, which it needs.
Would you say this is a fair price?

Martin at Pendle says around 1000 (ok he said 995 off the top of his head) plus VAT but he's not sure of the costs yet.

Mines cost, £1330, that includes, Auto tuners unlock, ad blue, dpf, egr deletes and a darkside developments dpf+cat delete downpipe.
