Heard recently that BW Autohause of Derby can remap the infamous Bosch ECU in the later T6.1.

So I emailed them and they said YES no problem!

190BHP for £250 Is this news I’ve missed previously? Has anyone had their motor remapped by them?

Last I heard it was send your ECU to France for. Couple of weeks.

I'd love to know how as we're watching all the hardware manufacturers that allow us to map vans (the physical device that allows us you put the files on and off) and know one has a solution yet. You sure they haven't miss quoted for the Delphi van?

I specifically asked for a T6.1 with the Bosch ECU. 150ps manual gearbox. Even gave them the reg number.
There was a FB post that a couple of people said this company can do them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

MMMM, not sure how true this is, this has been the Holy Grail of mapping for 5 years! As far I was aware, the only way was to send the ECU to Eastern Europe where, I assume the encrypted components are removed and replaced with something that can be programmed, and at a significant cost! £££££££
I thought the whole industry had been working on this flat out, and had pretty well given up - if anyone had cracked it, I would have thought it would be on BBC News At 10, not a casual he said, she said, on a forum?
If it is true, I think thousand would want to know the story!

My thoughts exactly. I wonder if it’s an over eager sales assistant replying to enquiries without realising the difference in ECU’s.

I'd say that may be a safe bet I spoke with Auto tuner, Alien tech and Magic Motorsport today none of them have solutions yet and we're on every hardware mailing list going so the minute it's possible we know about it's and so far it's been radio silence. I have no doubt it'll happen at some point but amazed if it's happened and slipped by completely unannounced.

Apparently everyone can do them!

Emailed MRC tuning and got this reply

“These can be mapped and typical gains would take it to 215ps and 500nm of torque, although this would need to be done directly at MRC tuning as the ECU does need to be unlocked first.”

Each time I specifically said Bosch ECU and all vehicle details.

I’m still more inclined to believe the info provided on the forum over these companies….which when you think about it is a sad reflection on my faith in companies.

Call their bluff. Book in with them, but on the clear understanding that if they cant do it youll be invoicing them form your time.

Ha ha If my time wasn’t precious I might.

Somehow I don’t think they’d pay up once they realised their mistake.

Small claims track of the county court would open their wallets if it came to that. A small business wont want a CCJ against their name as it causes problems with suppliers and credit so they'd likely pay, and if they didnt you'd likely win anyway.

But thats assuming the worst. They may genuinely have cracked it.

Just contacted them and this is their reply:

We are currently having to send off your ECU to have it unlocked so we can apply our tuning software. The unlock process will take 2-3 weeks depending on shipping and customs times. A further 1-2 days will be required for coding and tuning once the ECU is back with us. The vehicle would need to remain with us while the ECU is being unlocked.
The cost is £1800 inc vat and includes the removal and re-fitment of ECU, shipping, unlock and tuning of the ECU and TCU (where applicable)
