Bonnet solar

Has anyone tried this setup, only a 80w panel on your bonnet. Should be enough for a slow charge of your leisure battery. Looks tidy.

Where was looking at these recently...

But it's crazy expensive for an 80 watt panel...

But saying that 50 watt or above is great for a trickle charger..... But that's about all you're going to get from an 80 watt panel.

You need a round 100-300 watt for some off grid solar action.

Looks like they've dropped the price to below 300 pound now.

You can get a similar flat flexible 50 watt panel and velcro it to the bonnet.

I remember seein at one of the big festivals that one of the companies selling external screen covers had one with a solar panel attached. Can't remember who though.

Just finished 10 days at Mallacoota without power...very happy with the performance of my 120w solar blanket....it ran fridge , lighting and various chargers and did not let 110ah Lithium battery, below 74%. I had it on the ground in the morning and windscreen afternoon.Had a few days with not much sun too. When not in use, just stores in the pocket behind the seat...Cheers
