Hi all,

Just placed an order on the bluetti Apex 300 (2740wh). It comes with the 560w alternator charger and D1 hub for 50A 12v.

The reason for ordering this is simplicity if I’m honest. I was looking at building a full system and it was getting very overwhelming and I’m hoping this may be the answer. It seems peoples main issue with going power station only with older units was down to most of these power banks having a 10A limit on the DC.

It came in just shy of £1500. Pricing up a similar system from scratch with similar capacity, solar charger, split charger, smart shunt, inverter ect was all coming in at a similar if not slightly higher price.

My plan for the build is all the standard bits e.g diesel heater, led lights, phone chargers ect but also want the ability to use an induction hob, air fryer etc and also want the ability to satisfy the mrs need for a hair dryer at festivals 😜

Anybody else ordered one or using the D1 hub/charger?

Just seen these, they look like an awesome piece of kit all wrapped up in one unit. Shore power, lithium battery, inverter, split charger, Mppt controller and 12v output. And with options to extend the battery.
Not cheap to buy all that separately, and without the hassle of selecting all the right stuff. Maybe a bit of overkill for a t6 and perhaps more suited to a larger van, but if you want 240v and lithium definitely worth the £1500 price you paid. Good luck with the build

Its good that its 'all in one', but I would worry about your eggs all being in one basket! We use the baby baby brother of the Apex, an AC 180, a very useful extra 90Ah of availability, in addition to the vans onboard 230Ah. Both the van and the Bluetti handle the Airfryer and the Mrs Dyson hairdryer, if one system packs up, we have the other.
I watched their promo video a few nights ago, it looked more like a household system than a portable van system.
Where will you put it? It's a heavy beastie!
Jealous, West Midlands...

Valid point about all eggs being in one basket, time shall tell! It’s a 5 year warranty so hopefully their support lives up to the product if it comes to it!

The van is currently a blank canvas so may end up being built around the power station! Still deciding between a U shape vs R&R. I think U shape would make it slightly easier to fit.

It will be a fascinating build! Will you be 'doing' solar to keep it topped up? For those breaks when you're parked up for 4 days? The induction and Airfryer certainly takes some power! We tend to lean on gas for cooking and kettle boils to save my remaining power anxiety!
I would imagine it will need to be 'on display' somewhere to access its outputs, U shape is probably the easiest way.
In my mind, it's like a Clayton system with benefits.
Very impressed with our baby Bluetti and will miss it when my wife steals it to go camping at the same time as Summer Camp. Even that is quite a lump though!
Keep us posted @RacingSlow you may be the future of van electrics!

I was looking at this but the AC240 with the Charger 1 comes in at £1200 so a saving of £300! However the Apex 300 has a smaller footprint, I’m going to see how much it is once the initial lot have been bought and possibly Black Friday.

Will do. I’ll probably have solar but not installed on the van, just flexible fold up panels for the longer stays like festivals. If I’m on an actual trip I’ll be moving enough to keep it topped up… I hope :)

Shipping looks to be early August so will update when it arrives. In the meantime I'll be on the lookout for an interior that will be large enough to fit it! 😂 suggestions welcome

So it’s all started turning up… 3 boxes and 3 separate deliveries!

I couldn't resist getting it all up to get an idea of size with everything connected…

With the 50A DC charger attached it’s around 70cm width. Even if you decide to mount this elsewhere, the cable is the limiting factor on width here.

If you are mounting on top of the AC300 it brings to total unit height too 41.5cm.

Now I have the measurements I need, time to start figuring out where to put it. I need to check out some R&R beds and see if it will fit under, if not it will be a custom furniture job I think. On the plus side, ditching a gas bottle frees up some space!

The other other piece of the puzzle is the the DC to DC charger, as seen below. I will likely mount this elsewhere and just run the cables.

So far looks like a really solid piece of kit. Charged on AC power in around an hour, seems to run anything I put past it.

Got a link to the website?

You might want to look at upgrading to a VIP Trade member, then can advertise and sell on here.

Hi there , yes just put www.scot-power.co.uk , I'm running early black friday prices for the next month and a half, I wasn't sure about posting links on here, I would definitely considering upgrading to premium to advertise or help people on here with Bluetti support as they can be quite bad for customer support for UK customers, so even if anyone has purchased direct and are having issues I might be able to help them with contacting Bluetti if they need tech support or customer support.

you are showing the Apex300 as £100 off versus others.

so a good price for interested members.

How have you found it? I’m debating going this route as I can just transfer it to another vehicle if I ever need to, but I’m trying to work out where I can put it, as I’m doing a Kombi with an ovano style setup, so no furniture in the back to hide it in.

I’d like to be able to charge it from the alternator, I’ve got fold solar panels anyway from my last van, and apparently they’re launching an EV charging point cable for these. But where I can put it and run a fridge off it and plug it into an installed diesel heater I don’t know.

The alternative is that I get a lithium underwear battery with alternator charge and a solar hook up installed under one seat, and a diesel heater under the other. I commented on a Hythe auto electric post too and they said they could do a battery under each front seat and I’d still be able to fit a diesel heater under the drivers.

hiya!

I got rid of my apex an have gone for a 230ah Lifepo4. At 12v they’re both pretty much the same capacity and I managed to pick up the 230ah pretty much new super cheap. Gives me pretty much the same performance for less than half the cost for pure 12v stuff.

I have paired that with a 50a DC/DC charger.

The most power I really need is 100w, so no real need for an inverter as I can get this through USB C although I’m debating getting an induction hob. If I do this I have two options. Buy a smaller power bank or add another battery… unsure on what I’ll do.

The main reason for no going with the apex was just size due to be honest. It’s a great bi of kit and should I get a larger van, I’d 100% be going down that route.

In the van we have a 230Ah battery with a 2000w inverter which powers our single induction hob in the van. Also have the Bluetti AC180 for the awning which can also run the induction.
Those Apex's are great with a bigger van (I would imagine).

My Kombi goes into converters next week, while I dont have an APEX yet, among the elextrics side of this, I'm planning on having a Fogstar 280ah 12v system in a self contained cupboard underneath the mobiframe bed. In amongst the setup I have a charger 2 to be installed, and plan on using the APEX for 240 electrics off grid.

FYI have you done much recent research on the charger 2? A few people in the bluetti pages were mentioning going back to the charger 1 due to problems
