Thanks, I have been looking into this as an option... this guy has done a pretty good job with his and will save me having to drill out any rivets.Powder coating is also fairly thick. So good luck getting the wheel cups back on.
Probably better off just spray painting, but if you want to properly strip it down you will need to drill rivets, then need a river tool to reassemble.
It’s been on my ‘to do’ list for a while now.
Can you post some pictures?Good timing for your post, I am picking the same model of bike rack up from the powdercoaters tonight and hopefully rebuilding it over the weekend… will let you know how it goes and how easy it is!
Will do, there were a couple of bits I wasn’t happy with the powder coating so waiting on them being redone and I will post up pics once finished and fitted. Can you post some pictures?
Bit of a thread resurrection. Looking at getting mine powder coated and wondering how this holds up to real world use.
I had it fitted until a few months ago, never ended up using it so removed and sold it.Bit of a thread resurrection. Looking at getting mine powder coated and wondering how this holds up to real world use.
Still looking good after a year?
Thanks for the update.I had it fitted until a few months ago, never ended up using it so removed and sold it.
I think powder coating is one of the best finishes to stand up to day to day use, hence why I went this route, just never got round to testing it out!
