Premium Diesel helps in winter too.
I do not know if you can get it in the UK but the OMV one (OMV Maxxmotion Ultimate) is set to work until -40 C and I think it does . I remeber one cold winter week (2017 or 2018) I was in Poland at -30 and my Renault filled with that stuff was one of the few diesels starting in the morning.
I do not see any performance/efficiency improvement tough.
Otherwise the advice to use busy stations I think is spot on.

I have half a feeling I read somewhere the additive package is tweaked and they do add more anti-gel protection during winter. Can’t remember where I saw that though.

Plus one for using busy forecourts, and preferably at new or refurbished filling stations.

That is true usually until -10 or -15 C. After that you are on your own.
