Ok, after fitting some new (rear) brake disks and pads to my brothers A1 I am sitting having a brew and browsing the forum, when it crossed my mind about betting in the brakes. If I’m honest all I have done with any vehicle (4 wheels or 2) after it has had new disks/pads is to avoid braking hard for the first few miles.
I know the recommended way to bed in brakes is, on a quiet road accelerate to 30-40mph, brake gently without coming to a stop then speed up again to 30-40, rinse and repeat a few times. Then let the brakes cool down.
However how the hell do I get to such a quiet road without using the damn brakes.
