Battery indicator eyes.

Hello. I'm not experiencing any battery issues other than the stop / start system very rarely starts. While check in the engine compartment the battery indicator eyes caught my eye. I'm probably being a total knob here but do the indicators as shown in the photo mean I need to replace it. It is measuring 12.6v with the engine off, I'm not having to charge it. I can't tell if the off white circle next to the X sign is illuminated or waiting to be illuminated. Thanks.

The indicators show the two possible states of the window below them. There are no lights or anything, just two stickers and a viewing window.

In your case, the viewing window is black, so everything is fine. If it was filled in it would indicate the battery fluid level was low and the battery either needs topping up (if it isn't sealed), or replacing if it is.

If you have measured 12.6V at the battery after letting everything rest for a while, it is probably all good. That is over 80% charge for a lead acid battery.

You could try measuring the battery voltage after letting it sit untouched for a few days and see if it is holding charge, but otherwise nothing concerning.
