I just checked that on mine, and think something could be fabricated and fixed using the bolts that attach the top latch

Here’s where I’m at with my design. It’s only fitted to a scrap piece of ply from the van at the moment. I’ll try to fit one into my van tomorrow if I get a chance.
You’d need to cut a square hole 105mm x 65mm, ideally over the existing hole, but it could be relocated anywhere on the door easily enough.
The handle / switch holder simply clips into the newly made hole.
Could be made in most colours - if I have them.
If anyone would like one let me know. £10 posted seems like a reasonable price.

Really impressed with the finished part here. It actually looks factory. Very well made and works perfectly. Barn door shuts as normal now and no issues at all. Thanks again fella.
