Back to VW after a 10 year absence.

Hey everyone !!.

Great forum you have here. I have been slowly reading through many of your contributions.

I have returned to Transporter ownership after giving the brand a break due to, " extreme " unpleasantness with a 174 T5 back in 2004 !.

I've just thrown down the deposit on a 2017, " 66" plate SWB Kombi 150 DSG, which I will pick up next week.
Its an ex demonstrator direct from a VW dealer in Starlight blue. A few extras including power sliding doors, sat nav, reversing camera and carpeted cab.

I've been doing lots of mountain biking with a mate who has one and I have to say, the Transporter has really improved since my last T5.

I hope to be a fairly active contributor to your group, and will post up some pictures a soon as I get the van.

Photos will be uploaded next week. ( the van still has the tiny castor wheels fitted that VW use to shuffle it around the factory !! ).
Going to fit some 19,s with 30mm drop, rear spoiler, lip spoiler and side bars. Inside will be insulated and carpeted.
Its an awesome van to drive and the DSG box is impressive.

A 2004 174 T5 you say.........mmmm..... yep been there. I kept with it, and 180k miles later it was running better than new, but I do now have a pathological hatred for VW(UK).............. the T6 is a superb van, I am sure you will enjoy it
