Awkward job on dsg box

I'm not easily put off by many jobs but changing the dsg filter on my t6 is turning out to be very challenging.
Oil & filter removed ok but trying to get the filter housing out is turning into a nightmare for me.
For some reason there doesn't appear to be enough room to get the housing out either upwards or downward. I'm thinking it's because it's a twin turbo and has the extra rear cab heater pipes in the engine bay so room is compromised by the extra parts.
😐 Any ideas anyone.

I don’t have a DSG but I’m sure that I read on this Forum that the filter (strainer) is not a scheduled renewable. They are probably working on the principal that if there is enough debris in the strainer the unit needs a major overhaul.
Search Others have renewed it.

I've managed to do it and it doesn't help when your fingers are totally numb.
Left the job for 30 minutes & had a coffee.
Went back to the job and got the filter housing past the pipes, thank god lol.
To be fair, the oil & filter looked pretty clean but when you get a van with very little service history you don't know what's been done.

I changed the oil and filter in mine a few weeks ago. Not a Bi-turbo so plenty of room to extract the filter housing :) Just needed a couple of long extensions and a universal on the end of the ratchet to reach down far enough to unscrew it.
Still ended up with scrapped knuckles though !
