Hi,

I was driving my 2016 T6 and after a few strange sounds I lost power steering and the battery warning light came on. Thanks to this forum I put it down to the auxiliary belt… when I looked under the vehicle it had come off. But also another part had come as per the picture below… can anyone help and advise what this is and the severity of the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Looks like half of the auxiliary belt tensioner, the other half should still be on the engine.

Thanks guys, interestingly the belt looks new. Would they have to replace the belt to replace the intercooler… that was done a couple of months ago?

Is it a big job to replace the tensioner?

Thanks Dellmassive… the advice is worth the membership so roll out the red carpet!!

I’ll download the guide and see if I’m up the the challenge…

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks guys. Does anyone know if it will be o.k to drive to the garage a couple of miles away? I’ve put the battery on charge if that makes any difference.
