Auto stop start

Hi all, first post from a new boy. I must say I am impressed with the amount of information available and the open and helpful attitude of you all. Had my van a couple of weeks, it's been around having few bits done and I can't recall it's behaviour during Auto stop start. Had some audio improvements made and now the sounds cut out on restart, bit annoying, I have access to vehicles with similar fuel saving systems [not VW] and the tunes keep playing uninterrupted. Not sure if the power has been taken from the correct source or maybe this happened before. New van, Discover head unit with now an amp etc. Is this right? Thanks

Can't help solve your issue only to say I have stop start and when mine activates the radio remains on an uninterrupted.
I'm sure something is a miss but will soon be corrected by someone knowledgeable @Absolut5 maybe worth speaking to.

Ditto here. No loss of sound on mine. I'm no tech, but it sounds like a VW equivalent of the old IT switch it off and back on again. Back to the dealer??

Welcome to the forum BTW.

Hiya

Does the radio switch off, or just the sound?

Do you have the factory secondary battery?

Regards
Jason

Thanks lads, only the one Battery, I will take a closer look and get back to you Jason, cheers.

Regards,

Paul

Mine does it. Aftermarket everything. The radio stays on but it's the amps that can't handle the low voltage from stop start. It only interrupts the audio on start up for half a second.
Some modern amps are able to handle the low voltage stop start and are designed so but old skool amps don't.
